Snorkeling off the barrier reef is something many visitors come to Belize to experience. It can easily be done in a day trip while staying at Serenity Sands.
We'll set it up for you with Searious Adventures. You can fly or take a boat out to San Pedro, spend half a day snorkeling, and return to Serenity Sands all in the same day!
The Lamanai tour is one of the most popular of the Mayan sites.
For about an hour and a half, you'll have an educational ride down the New River to the site. Lunch is served, then you have a guided tour of Lamanai, where you can climb high on one of the pyramids to view the surrounding area.
We use Jungle River Tours for this excursion.
Visit "The Best Little Zoo in the World"
This is an attraction that we are happy to recommend and is well worth the drive.
The zoo can be combined with a cavetubing tour, you can use a zoo guide or do a self-guided tour with the maps provided. At the zoo you can see 125 different species in their natural habitat.
Cave tubing is an experience unique to the country of Belize! While it's a drive from Serenity Sands, it's so worth it!
After crossing the Caves Branch river, a guide will take you on an informative hike through the rain forest where you will learn Mayan history and the local flora and fauna. You will then have an exciting yet relaxing ride on tubes down the river and through the caves.
The cavetubing tour can also be combined with a zipline jungle canopy tour or the Belize Zoo. Cavetubing.bz also does tours of Maya archeological sites, even Tikal in Guatemala.
